I’m Jake Long, and I’m running for Lincoln County Commissioner.

Lincoln County is home. It’s where I’ve built a business, served on the Lincoln County School District 2 school board, and stayed connected to people from all walks of life. Those experiences have given me a clear perspective—what we do at the county level matters, and it shows up in people’s everyday lives.

Lincoln County is a special place. It’s where we live, work, raise our families, and build our futures. But like many of you, I’ve seen the growing challenges facing our communities—housing that local families can’t afford, infrastructure that’s stretched too thin, and a workforce that’s struggling to keep up with the cost of living.

I’m not a career politician. I’m a small business owner and a heavy equipment mechanic by trade. I’ve spent my life working with my hands, solving problems, and being accountable for results. Serving on the school board has given me firsthand insight into how these challenges impact our families, our teachers, and our future.

I’m running because I believe we need steady, practical, common-sense leadership that is proactive—not reactive. We need to plan ahead, make responsible decisions, and focus on long-term success for our county.

That includes responsible development—growth that respects our way of life, protects property rights, and makes sense for our communities instead of working against them. I believe we need to focus on real solutions:

• Fixing infrastructure so our communities can grow the right way

• Supporting housing for the people who already live and work here

• Protecting the Wyoming way of life while planning responsibly for the future

• Keeping government accountable, efficient, and focused on what matters

If I’m given the opportunity to serve, here’s what you can expect from me:

• I’ll treat your tax dollars like they matter—because they do

• I’ll stand up for property rights and local control

• I’ll support responsible growth that strengthens, not strains, our communities

• I’ll work to keep county government open and transparent

• I’ll stay focused on the basics—roads, services, and the things we rely on every day

I believe trust matters. People deserve honesty from their elected officials, even when the conversations aren’t easy. I’ve always tried to be straightforward and accessible, and that won’t change.

We don’t need politics—we need progress. We need leadership that listens, works hard, and follows through. Lincoln County’s future should be shaped by the people who call it home—not by outside pressures or short-term decisions.

I don’t claim to have all the answers, but through dialogue and partnership with community members, we can find them together.

The passion and desire to serve the people of Lincoln County does not end after an election. If elected as your commissioner, I will carry the concerns, priorities, and goals of our communities with me every day as I serve.

At the end of the day, this is about keeping Lincoln County strong—today and for the next generation.I’m ready to step up, work hard, and serve. I’d be honored to earn your support, and I would appreciate hearing from you.
